In the story Rick Bragg te lls you, She was a 1969 General Motors convertible muscle car with a 350 V-8 and a Holley four-barreled carburetor as long as my arm.(pg13). As you can tell he is very detailed, and that he exactly loves this car that he has purchased. Bragg infers this car is his equalizer, meaning it brings him up to par with all of the more popular people in his own eyes.
